Pigment Inks have the same application as dye inks. They have reduced vibrancy as compared to dye inks but last longer or are more UV resistant. It is for this reason that professional printers prefer using these. They can be used on printing stickers, photopapers and other inkjet media. Pigment inks do not dissolve in water completely, as with flour and water mixture. Pigment particles are similar to large pebbles on a beach. It is more difficult for sunlight and chemicals to react with all of the pigment molecules since they are hidden inside the “pebbles.”
